What's Capture for Teams?

Updated: Jul 27, 2020

As sustainability becomes increasingly important for organisations, there's a growing need to engage employees in the process. You’ve probably come across a handful of employee-engagement initiatives to boost corporate sustainability - recycling, more veggie food in the canteen, occasional offsetting emissions from flights… but with climate change on-track to make covid-19 look like a walk-in-the-park, wouldn’t it be great if you could somehow supercharge this process, transforming your workforce into an army of eco-warriors? Here at Capture, that’s exactly what we’re working on.

We’ve developed software that helps a company build & monitor a planet-friendly workforce - through a satisfying app for employees and insightful web-based dashboard for leadership, helping corporations and employees to take action, collectively. Here’s how it works...

A company can create a private space for all of their employees to log in within the Capture app, invite team members, then collectively do two things: 1) track emissions from transport, and 2) track environmental savings from planet-friendly commitments. Admins can access a web-based dashboard to track the average employee carbon footprint, CO2 savings from planet-friendly commitments, and live emissions from employee mobility choices! Pretty neat, huh?

As an example, if a company has around 20,000 employees, and 10% of them made a planet-friendly commitment to have their air conditioning above 24 degrees celsius, together they could save nearly 500,000 tons of CO2 equivalent emissions on a yearly basis!

But it’s not just good for the planet... Capture for Teams can also help companies attract and retain talent, as sustainable initiatives have become a factor that people take into consideration when job-hunting.

Swytch, a blockchain-based clean energy platform, recently conducted a survey of 1,000 employees in the U.S. who either currently work for or have worked for a company with over 5,000 employees to explore their sentiments around employers’ corporate sustainability activities. Results show that employees of all generations seek companies that have programs set in place to be more sustainable. Gen Z and Millennials in particular are the most enthusiastic about pursuing and staying loyal to greener companies.

When choosing a company to work for …

  • Over 70% of people surveyed are more likely to work for a company that has a strong green footprint

  • Nearly half of respondents are even willing to accept a smaller salary to work for an environmentally and socially responsible company

  • Over 10% would accept a salary decrease between $5,000 and $10,000

Is an office-wide meatless Monday going to save the world anytime soon? No. However, we believe Capture for Teams can create a larger long-term positive effect by helping people get started with the smaller actions. Small changes can have a domino effect towards more meaningful climate action... whether it is someone reducing their meat consumption, switching their energy to reusable providers, or being more informed about the political figures and parties that have ‘green’ interests in mind.
